Principal's Message

Julie Andrews - BVPS Acting Principal

We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which our school stands. We pay our respects to all First Nations elders, past, present and emerging.

National Sorry Day is a special day that occurs in Australia on 26th May every year. It is a day of remembrance and commemoration held to highlight the impact of past policies of forcible removal on the Stolen Generations, their families, and their communities. National Sorry Day is of particular significance to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Australia. The day is an opportunity for all Australians to remember past mistakes and build stronger bridges for a richer, stronger future together.

Thank you to all the hard work the teachers put into organising the excursion to the zoo on Wednesday. All the children were so excited and had a great time.

Julie Andrews

Acting Principal

Pupil Free Day - Monday, May 23rd

For Term 2, 2022, the Department of Education and Training has provided schools with the option to hold each teacher’s allocated professional practice day on the same day for all staff. This is to enable the most effective and efficient use of this day.

As a result, we have scheduled our professional practice day for Monday 23rd of May, 2022. Students will therefore not be required to attend school on this day.

School Council

The Broadmeadows Valley Primary School new school council had its first meeting last term. Your school councillors are Amanda Saunders, Koren Staaf, Ahmed Nadeem and Tamara Guy. Marcell Jackson has stayed on school council as a co-opted member in the role of school council president. I want to thank them for volunteering and encourage others to ask if they would also like to volunteer at school.

Child Safe Standards

Broadmeadows Valley Primary School is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. This will be the primary focus of our care and decision-making. Broadmeadows Valley Primary School has zero tolerance for child abuse and is committed to providing a child safe environment.
