Principal's Message |
As we approach the end of Term 2, I thought it appropriate that we reflect on the partnership between the Home and our School.
Both Parents and Teachers want the same thing for our children – the best possible education. When we work together we can make a strong team. Here are some ways you can help the school provide the very safest and best learning environment for all:
To build and maintain a respectful learning environment, we are responsible for always:
Student wellbeing
If you have concerns over your child’s mental health please do not hesitate to contact me on 9309 4066 and we can put you in touch with different agencies in our community. Here is some useful information on improving mental health:
Parent Wellbeing
Your health and wellbeing is just as important to look after as your child’s. All of our parents at BVPS are doing a great job, with many of you having experienced juggling Remote Learning and working from home yourself. Remember to be kind to yourselves!
Here are some resources and links for you to explore:
It’s hard to believe that half of the school year is already over! I’d like to wish everyone a happy and a safe holiday and hope that you’ll all be able to get to spend some time with your families and friends.
Thank you to everyone within the Broadmeadows Valley Primary school community for your work and support throughout a very busy Term 2.

Acting Principal
CSEF |
Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund application deadline extended
To support schools through COVID-19 restrictions, the Department has extended the deadline for schools to submit Camps, Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF) applications to Friday 13 August.
The CSEF helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.
Families with a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, as well as temporary foster parents, are eligible to apply. There is also a special consideration category for asylum seeker and refugee families.
The means-tested concession cards must be valid on either:
Please see Lindy in the office if you would like to apply for CSEF.
Breakfast Club |
BREAKFAST CLUB IS OPEN!
Breakfast Club at BVPS operates every morning before school. Breakfast Club provides a FREE nutritious breakfast (including cereal, toast, fruit and drinks) to ALL students every morning from 8:15am to 8:45am in the BVPS kitchen.
Any student who arrives on the school grounds early (before 8:45am) also needs to go to the kitchen where they can be supervised in a safe and warm environment before school supervision begins.
Seesaw |
A reminder that updates on student learning, important messages regarding school and neighbourhood events and messages from your children's teachers are now all delivered via Seesaw.
Please be logging into your Seesaw Family account regularly to check out what is happening at BVPS.
If you are having trouble logging into Seesaw Family or unable to connect to your childs account please speak to their homegroup teacher.
School Photos |
BVPS school photos have been postponed until Term 3.
Gowrie News |
After lot of planning and preparation our On Country Kindergarten program finally commenced in May.
As part of this weekly program our 3yr and 4yr old kindergarten children immerse themselves in the local Jacana Wetlands Reserve; learning on, with, and from Country.
Children utilise the natural environment to extend on their literacy and numeracy development, language and storytelling skills while also exercising, challenging and experimenting with their problem solving, negotiation and creative expression strategies.
