Hello, my name is Maria Giordano, and I am extremely excited to be a part of this wonderful school community. I feel privileged to be working with such a lovely group of children, families and staff who work together to provide an excellent education for every child.
At Broadmeadows Valley Primary School, we seek the best education for all children, through the provision of a safe, friendly, supportive and stimulating environment, in which learning is designed to develop knowledge and skills for life.
I look forward to meeting you over the next few weeks and getting to know you all and the Broadmeadows Valley PS community.
Please feel free to come and say hello. My door is always open. If you have any questions, please feel free to come and ask and have a chat.
We would like to congratulate everyone involved in the smooth running of NAPLAN this term: students in Years 3 and 5, staff and parents. While NAPLAN is an important measure of how each student and the school is doing, it is by no means the only thing that matters. The results (which are not usually available until September) must be used within a balanced overview of where each student is ‘at’.
As with all assessment, it must be reviewed in light of the context on the day, the format of the assessments, and an ‘on-balance’ judgment made.
SCHOOL PHOTOSPlease don’t forget that school photos are being conducted on Monday 31st May. Please make sure your child/ren are wearing full school uniform.
We were very fortunate to receive a $200 Bunnings voucher for our school. We thank Bunnings for their ongoing support and generosity!!!
BREAKFAST CLUB IS OPEN!
Breakfast Club at BVPS operates every morning before school. Breakfast Club provides a FREE nutritious breakfast (including cereal, toast, fruit and drinks) to ALL students every morning from 8:15am to 8:45am in the BVPS kitchen.
Any student who arrives on the school grounds early (before 8:45am) also needs to go to the kitchen where they can be supervised in a safe and warm environment before school supervision begins.
A reminder that updates on student learning, important messages regarding school and neighbourhood events and messages from your children's teachers are now all delivered via Seesaw.
Please be logging into your Seesaw Family account regularly to check out what is happening at BVPS.
If you are having trouble logging into Seesaw Family or unable to connect to your childs account please speak to their homegroup teacher.
BVPS school photos will be taken next Monday 31st March. Please ensure your child comes to school on time and in full school uniform. Information on how to order is also available online here.
Over the last few weeks the kindergarten classes at Gowrie have been taking part in some specialist teaching from Body Australia. As part of these lessons the children have been learning about how to keep their own bodies private and safe. They have been using a traffic light system, puppets, dancing and stories to understand more about their own bodies and privacy.
