Here’s the latest news to keep our community up to date on the latest happenings at our school.
Welcome to Term 3, 2020 which is shaping up to be another exceptional term at BVPS.
Sincere gratitude is extended to all community members and in particular, to our students for persevering through our Stage 4 lockdown. Thank you for being cooperative, responsible and adaptable. This is helping to keep yourself, your family and your community safe.
We extend our sincere thoughts and best wishes to any of our families and friends who may have been affected by the explosion in Beirut that killed at least 135 people and wounded over 5000 with hundreds reported missing. A terrible event that has left many people in distress and fear.
If you or your family have been impacted by this event, please talk with your children’s teacher and reach out to us if you are requiring any form of additional support.
Our thoughts are with you all at this very sad time.
We have been very happy with the way the students have returned to remote learning and we are so proud of their amazing efforts to complete the work required and link in with their teachers as needed.
One staff member told me the work produced this week has been a real “mood lifter”.
Seeing students completing tasks with the help of their parents and siblings and having students’ complete tasks together over Seesaw/Google Classroom has really made things seem little bit brighter.
Most of our families continue to be helpful and supporting the learning in this round of remote learning and it's made the staff members really appreciate being part of the Broadmeadows Valley community.
It has come to our attention that a large number of BVPS students are actively posting on the TikTok app. Anyone under the age of 13 should NOT be using TikTok.
Students using a school device to access TikTok are breaking their loan agreement which clearly states that the device should not be used to access inappropriate content. Some students are not only accessing inappropriate content but also creating and posting inappropriate content wearing school uniform. These posts are easily found online as most students have public accounts with minimal privacy settings. This is highly UNSAFE for young people. We encourage you to not allow your children to continue with this.
Risky behaviour and the use of inappropriate language on TikTok by BVPS students is unacceptable.
We will be making contact with parents of identified students.
Please call me if you wish to discuss this request further. (93094066)
We will be updating and including new information for our families in this location. I encourage you to check back soon and have a look and see what’s new!!
