14/05/2020 - A Message from our Principal about returning to on-site learning

Dear Parents and Carers - It’s nearly time for us to be back together again. We can’t wait to have you all back with us on site in our beautiful school. Not long to go now!

We sincerely thank you for all the support and care you have provided for your children during this time. We know and appreciate how challenging it may have been for you.

We will be preparing for the students return to school and there will be

NO REMOTE LEARNING ON Thursday 21st FRIDAY 22nd & MONDAY 25th MAY.

A staff member will check in on you and your children on Thursday and Friday. During these days’ teachers will be participating in Professional Learning and will be completing reports for their students.

Monday 25th May is a Curriculum Day and we will be making final preparations for the return of P-2 students on Tuesday 26th May.

The return to school of our students will be implemented in 2 phases.

PHASE 1Prep, Grades 1 & 2Tuesday 26th May
PHASE 2Grades 3, 4, 5 & 6Tuesday 9th June

Students in Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 will continue with remote learning until the 9th of June.

When the students in your child’s year level returns to school, they will return as normal.

5 DAYS A WEEK - 9.00AM START

We want you to know that to support the health and wellbeing of all our students and staff, our school will continue with an enhanced cleaning routine and will encourage frequent hand washing.

There will be some important changes to the way our school operates in the coming weeks and months following the advice of the Chief Health Officer.

I will provide more detail about how our school will operate under these new conditions. It is important to note that the changes will include:

  • Adjusted arrangements for drop off and pick up
  • Restrictions on access to the school site for anyone other than immediate school staff and students
  • The way we conduct parent-teacher meetings and interviews

We understand that some families may feel anxious about this move back to classroom teaching and learning. I can assure you that this decision has been taken on the basis of the best health advice available to our state.

Thank you for your continued support and patience during this time. We look forward to welcoming our students back into the Learning Neighbourhoods.

Regards,

Carmela
