UPDATED INFORMATION SATURDAY 11TH APRIL

Hello everyone,

Following advice from the Department of Education and Training we will be moving to remote and flexible learning to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Until further notice, students will not be allowed to attend school UNLESS:

  • Parents who are working and are unable to arrange home supervision for their children
  • Children are in out-of-home care
  • Children identified by Child Protection or Family Services as children who should be at school

This is a very clear directive from the Victorian Government based on the advice from the Chief Health Officer;

‘All students that can learn at home must learn from home’

Broadmeadows Valley Primary School will continue to offer limited on-site learning for those students who need to access this.

Most of our teachers and school staff will also be working from home. All of them have been working hard to put learning programs in place to ensure continuity of learning and to support the wellbeing of all our students.

Learning packs for every student have already been sent out on Wednesday of last week. You should receive yours in the mail soon.

We will be working to identify students who do not have access to digital technologies at home. Devices such as laptops and tablets will be made available on loan to these students at a later date.

Parents and carers will be contacted by their teacher Tuesday/Wednesday of next week.

There is no doubt that this is going to be a challenging time for all of us. In true BVPS spirit we will work very closely together to ensure that we provide the very best possible support for the ongoing wellbeing and learning of our students and your children.

Please note that Tuesday 14th April is a student free day and learning begins on Wednesday 15th April.

I wish you all good health and remind you that in difficult and challenging times like the one we are currently in; you can always contact us for support or guidance should you need it.

Kind regards

Carmela Bianco
